Hard to believe that we did our first Grenache masterclass in 2017 with David Sadie leading 60 of us through what was then the top producers in South Africa. There wasn’t that many to choose from yet, but fast forward 9 years later and we have a much greater pool to pick from. It’s not only the popularity of the variety that increased among winemakers, it’s consumers who are tasting broader and exploring more. The variety is better known and more widely enjoyed today than ever before locally.
Join us as we take a fresh look at where the variety is at today in South Africa, and of course tasting through some great examples.
The tasting will be lead by David Clarke, who’s visiting the birthplace of Garnacha in Spain at the beginning of February. Fresh and full enthusiasm for the grape and undoubtably with new insights.
