Erika Obermeyer has built her wines around a simple idea: let the vineyard speak. Her aim is to capture the character of each site and the natural expression of the fruit, rather than masking it with heavy winemaking.

This takes her to some of the Cape’s most distinctive vineyard sites. Cool, maritime Firgrove brings structure and elegance, while the old dryland bush vines of the Agter-Paarl bring depth and concentration. Further west, the Atlantic influence of Groenekloof gives freshness and energy, while the warmer vineyards of Wellington are well suited to expressive Grenache.

The result is a collection of wines that show just how varied South Africa’s vineyards can be. Each bottle offers a different sense of place, with balance, freshness and character at the heart of the winemaking.
