100% Chardonnay. The 2020 Nautilus Chardonnay presents a straw hue and an elevated bouquet featuring ripe apricots, brioche, toasted hazelnuts, and a touch of flinty complexity. The palate showcases stone fruits, honeysuckle, and nutty layers from natural ferments. With a deep concentration and a long, refreshing finish, this wine possesses a firm mineral structure that will evolve into a creamy texture as it matures. The vintage experienced November-December rains, ensuring adequate soil moisture, while January-February offered warm, dry conditions. Although marked by Covid precautions, the harvest benefited from ideal weather for slow flavor development and pristine fruit condition. A blend of Renwick vineyard and Dijon clone 95 fruit, this wine’s fermentation took place in French oak barriques, followed by lees stirring for added texture.
