Black Oystercatcher Sauvignon Blanc 2023

R170.00

The ultimate goal of Black Oystercatcher Vineyards is to produce top quality grapes. And that is what the southern-most wine ward on the African continent, known as the Agulhas Wine Triangle, offers: quality grapes with intense varietal characteristics.

Given the cool climate of the region, it is an ideal Sauvignon Blanc production area. The cool breeze also ensures a naturally low pH level in the grapes – ideal for the ageability of the white wines.

A well balanced, cool climate Sauvignon Blanc, with a forthcoming nose of gooseberry, black current and tropical notes, complemented by a full palate of minerality and crisp after tones.

Description

Wine producer, Dirk Human, is the owner, winemaker and viticulturist of the Black Oystercatcher boutique wines.

The Human Family has farmed successfully on the Moddervlei farm, where the Black Oystercatcher winery is housed, for generations. Their love of the land and the natural environment are expressed in wines that reflect the distinctive soils and growing climate.

The Black Oystercatchers are coastal birds that pair for life and this philosophy of partnership extends to all that the Human family endeavour to unite: man and nature, food and wine, friends and family.

The farm is situated between the small towns of Elim, Bredasdorp and Agulhas, in the Overberg region in South Africa.
