This is going to be one for the books
Centenaries don’t happen too often, and when one pays tribute to the legendary owner of Glenelly Estate – Madame May de Lencquesaing in the month of her 100th birthday, you have to do something special; and so, we have done just that.
Cellarmaster Dirk Van Zyl has put together a tasting of his favourite vintages from the Glass Collection range to be tasted and enjoyed from 5:30 till 6:30 and served with delicious snacks. This will be followed by a tutored tasting of Estate Chardonnay and Estate Reserve red. The cherry on the cake is a vertical selection of Glenelly Lady May, celebrating the release of the 2020 vintage and Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2003. Why are we spoiling ourselves with a little Pichon too? Because before purchasing the Glenelly estate in 2003, at the age of 78, Madame May de Lencquesaing was the owner of the famous Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, a 2nd Growth from Pauillac, Bordeaux, and to this day, is regarded as one of the most prominent women in Bordeaux history.
So why not?
Join us as we journey through the southern slopes of the Simonsberg mountain in Stellenbosch, all the way to the Pauillac appellation on the Left Bank of Bordeaux.
