Headlining his wines with quotes like these opens Thinus Krüger (winemaker and CEO of Fram Wines) up to high expectations when pulling the cork on one of his creations. Notwithstanding, the man never disappoints to deliver in experience, taste and aromatics on all of his wines. Living up to the expectation of putting you in a good mood then,  seems to be Thinus’ forte.

Tembela Wines

Proprietor and winemaker of Tembela wines, Banele Vakele’s story starts in the township of Khayelitsha, where Banele was raised. He acquired a scholarship to attend high school in Constantia, and legend has it that his passion for wine was born here. Surrounded by vineyards, Banele followed his new found dreams and studied viticulture and oenology at Elsenburg Agricultural university, and went on to intern for some of the most celebrated names in the country, Savage Wines. Banele works as assistant winemaker for Duncan Savage and has claim some space of his own in the urban cellar to produce Tembela Wines.”Tembela”, the  isiXhosa for ‘faith’, ‘hope’ and ‘belief’, is also the name of Banele’s late mother, who he honours by making exceptional wines.
