Carignan
The grapes are 100% whole-bunch fermented to maximize freshness and complexity. The wine is then aged for 11 months exclusively in a concrete tank (labeled as 100% CONCRETE), a practice that preserves its pure, rustic character and ensures the finished wine is vibrant and full of personality.
Planted in 2001, bush vine, farmed organically. This is a block that is fairly vigorous for the dry soils of the Swartland and produces a good number of high-quality grapes with very juicy large berries. We try keep as many leaves as possible to shade the block as it can suffer from sunburn.Summer red enjoyed chilled a little.

Description
The wines of TESTALONGA defy convention in a lot of ways. Craig has never been accused of being “a follower” and these wines represent the avant-garde of South African wine. The fruit is farmed by Craig and his team using organic and biodynamic methods. Craig is proud of making natural wines, thus early picking, a lack of additions (minute amounts of SO2 are infrequently used) with no fining or filtration are all hallmarks of his approach. They have bought a farm in the Piketberg area in northern Swartland, and have started to plant vines as of 2018.
The Follow Your Dreams Carignan 2025 is the result of significant effort invested into the red wine program, designed to highlight the variety’s pure fruit and the unique structure offered by Paardeberg’s terroir.
