The Chapters is a collection of terroir-driven, single-varietal wines that tell the story of exceptional vineyard sites.

Through years of exploring and sourcing grapes, I’ve discovered unique parcels of vines that capture the essence of their location, vines with the potential to produce wines of remarkable quality. This is a range where I can express these sites and varieties, producing small batches of exceptional wines from exceptional vineyard sites.

Each vineyard is carefully chosen for its soil, age, climate, and location, with a focus on older vines planted on poorer soils to deliver a pure expression of site and vintage. These vineyards are meticulously managed for quality, with winemaking kept intentionally low intervention to honour the terroir.

These are wine styles and varieties which I love to drink, lovingly handcrafted in my pursuit of outstanding South African wines.

Chapters Chenin Blanc 2023, made from a vineyard planted in 1982 on weathered shale soils in the Bottelary side of Stellenbosch. The grapes are pressed as whole bunches and the juice settled before transferring into 400lt old French oak barrels for fermentation. After natural fermentation the wines is matured on the lees for about 11 months. The result is a wine packed with stonefruit, , orange blossom, lavender and basil stem aromas. It has a full rounded mouthfeel built on texture and weight, with a creamy, yet grippy finish. We love the fruit expression and clarity of this wine.
