Lourens Family Wines (founded in 2016) is a small family-owned business in the beautiful valley of Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa.

Franco “Poenie” Lourens’ (Winemaker/Proprietor) goal is to make honest wines with personality and character that tell a story about special vineyards, unique sites and the passionate people who farm them.

The wine-making philosophy is pretty simple; The goal is to make wines with minimal interference in the winery. They believe that the special vineyards and unique sites where their grapes come from significantly influence the wines. They don’t add yeast, acid, enzymes, or fining agents, and only use older neutral oak barrels for maturation.
