The second vintage Chenin Blanc by Jolandie Fouche, is probably going to sell out even faster than the maiden 2018.
What’s in the name? Jolandie’s husband, Gustav, send her this quote a long time ago:
“some days I am more wolf than woman, and I am still learning how to stop apologising for my wild”
So when the new wine needed a name, this came to mind again.
The grapes come from two parcels in the Swartland. One from a 36 year old block on granite rich soils for freshness and the other from a 39 year old block on iron rich soils for structure and body. Whole bunch pressing into old 300lt barrels for natural fermentation and after 10 months racked and bottled. Only 1350 bottles were produced.
This shows the new generation of winemakers in the Cape at its best!
