Samantha O’Keefe searches for vineyards around the Cape to support her love for cool climate wines. Vineyards that can express the richness of African sunshine combined with tipicity of soil and cool climate finesse.
The grapes for this Chenin Blanc comes from W.O. Walker Bay, and a little more specifically, Stanford. The vineyard grows close to the ocean, in granite soils and produces this exceptional wine of finesse and clarity.
“Citrus blossoms and peaches with a haunting hint of baking spice. Saline and fresh. Barrel Fermentation and extended lees contact contribute additional texture to an absolutely crunchy minerality.” – Samantha’s notes
“Samantha has a way of bringing finesse and texture to wines, adding that extra layer of intrigue in every bottle. This wine, with an alcohol of only 12% abv, expresses aromas of sage flower, almonds and preserved lemon. The palate has the most amazing grippy mouthfeel and mouthwatering acid balance. It’s mineral and savoury at the same time. A truly delicious wine to ponder.” – Corlien’s notes
