These deeply-coloured wines are often full-bodied and powerful. Well balanced, they reveal great richness.
Vineyard practices include Guyot pruning, soil mounding and ploughing, biological protection, disbudding, and green harvesting with leaf thinning. The grapes are completely separated from their stems and placed in open vats. Only natural yeasts used, no additions. Pigeage or remontage once a day. The wine undergoes 14 months of ageing in French oak barrels, with 30% new barrels. The malolactic fermentation occurs slowly, and there is no racking.
