David and Nadie Single Vineyard Chenin Blanc selection
2021 marks one of the best vintages of the last decade in the Cape. On release in 2022, these wines were tight in their precision. Showing all the building blocks of wines that will age well. Balance in fruit and acidity, tight mineral mouthfeel and fine tannin grip on finish. We, just like everyone else, that these special wines must be kept for a few years before enjoying.
Today we can offer these to you one year older, and one year closer to their drinking window.
David & Nadia seek special old vineyards in the Swartland to form the backbone of their Chenin Blanc and Aristargos blend. A few of the sites are so special that they get a separate bottling. Each on their own unique soil composition, reflecting the subtle differences and what they bring to the final blend.

Plat’bos Chenin Blanc 2021 – from a north-facing Paardeberg site on granite – 97 from Tim Atkin

Hoë-Steen Chenin Blanc 2021 – from iron rich red clay soils West of Malbesbury – 96 from Tim Atkin

Skaliekop Chenin Blanc 2021 – a small schale outcrop right next to Plat’bos on Paardeberg – 96 from Tim Atkin

We suggest the drinking window from 2024, but Christmas is close enough. This is a truly magnificent gift to oneself.
