The Bruwer cousins are planting varieties in areas of Stellenbosch where they believe they are best suited. Granitic soils, altitude and cooling ocean breezes will allow these vineyards to produce quality grapes. These grapes will give them the best opportunity to produce terrior-focused wines. Grenache and Pinotage from young vineyards give fruit and aromatic excitement, while mature Polkadraai Hills Syrah vineyards give the wine structure, depth of flavour and a further sense of place
The blend combination of the wine makes it unique to South Africa – Grenache, Syrah and Pinotage. The Grenache gives florals and freshness, Syrah its characteristic spice and structure and the Pinotage gives fruit depth to the wine. Made from our younger planted Grenache and Pinotage in combination with some of their higher lying Syrah, this special South African red blend gives ample enjoyment but is a wine that will reward a bit of cellaring.
Ageing potential 2 to 5 years
Blend information 37% Grenache / 36% Syrah/ 27% Pinotage

In celebration of their Bruwer family heritage cousins, Bruwer Raats and Gavin Bruwer Slabbert created Bruwer Vintners Vine Exploration Company in 2014. Their guiding mission is to craft exceptional wines showcasing its heritage, the unique terroir and, through this, create a new future for South African wine.
These wines are an expression of the South African sun, soil, vines and people. They are farming with varieties which they believe will lead to a sustainable future of quality wine production.
