Hanepoot or Muscat d’ Alexandrie belongs to the large group of ‘Moscati’ referred to as “Vitis Apianae” because they are sweet and preferred by bees. Do not be mistaken, this wine is completely dry though. Made by Henry Coetzee previously from Morgenster and now Mulderbosch, the wine shows some lemon cheesecake, ginger biscuit, salted caramel and grapey aromas on the nose. The palate is refreshingly clean and bright with ripe orange and floral characteristics. A pleasant and enjoyable wine for sure!
