SUMMARY:Saturday Sipping Session - Eenzaamheid Wines
DESCRIPTION:Eenzaamheid is one of the oldest wine farms in the Agter-Paarl\, with a family history that stretches back seven generations. The farm has remained in the same family since 1698\, and today the Briers-Louw family continues that tradition with a focus on making wines that reflect the character of their land. \nWhat makes Eenzaamheid especially interesting is its dryland vineyards. The vines grow without irrigation in the deep shale soils of the Agter-Paarl\, producing grapes with concentration\, freshness and plenty of character. There is something wonderfully authentic about these wines. SUMMARY:Beaumont New Baby Vintage Release & Vertical Tasting
DESCRIPTION:Beaumont is a family owned and managed farm situated in the heart of the town Botrivier in the Overberg. It’s home to the region’s oldest wine cellar\, and was originally established in the 1700’s as a supply farm for the Dutch East India Co. It has been in the hands of the Beaumont family since 1974\, with the first wine\, Pinotage\, bottled under the Beaumont name in 1994. Sebastian and Nici Beaumont is the current custodians of this historic farm and under their guidance the wines and everything else on the farm is growing from strength to strength. \nNew Baby \, first made in 2015\, was an experimental Cape White blend. The idea was to bring together the different personalities of the white varieties planted on the family farm\, creating something that was distinctly Beaumont. This “no rules”  white has changed composition over the years\, with Chenin Blanc always playing the leading role. Initially the wine didn’t have a name and was just called Vitruvian as companion to the red blend already made\, but Sebastian’s mom\, Jayne\, gave it the name New Baby\, who likened each new vintage to giving birth to a new child. Therefor the first vintage had the name Vitruvian\, AKA New Baby and was a full five-variety blend of Chenin Blanc\, Sauvignon Blanc\, Semillon\, Chardonnay and Colombard. \nJoin Sebastian Beaumont for this rare opportunity\,  as he takes us through the full line-up of New Baby\, starting with 2015 to the latest 2024 release. \nSeats are limited and therefore booking is essential\nClick here to reserve your seat

SUMMARY:Saturday Sipping Session - Sakkie Mouton Family Wines
DESCRIPTION:Sakkie Mouton grew up on the West Coast\, just outside Vredendal\, surrounded by vineyards and farming. After studying viticulture and winemaking\, he spent five years working harvests around the world. He eventually returned home with a clear idea: to tell the story of the West Coast through wine. \nIn 2019\, he started Sakkie Mouton Family Wines. His focus is on the vineyards and the unique sites around Vredendal and Koekenaap. The region is warm and rugged\, but the Atlantic brings cool winds that help keep the vines fresh. Many of the vineyards grow in poor\, decomposed sandstone soils\, which can give the wines real concentration and character. \nSakkie takes a minimal-intervention approach in the cellar. He wants the wines to show where they come from\, rather than hiding the character of the vineyard. SUMMARY:Restless River New Vintage Release Tasting with Craig Wessels
DESCRIPTION:Restless River is synonymous with authentic\, elegant wine. Craig and Anne Wessels own and run this small family estate in the cool Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. \nCraig is committed to absolute site expression and a minimalist approach. Each vineyard on their farm is registered as a Single Vineyard and the wines are named after the vineyards. \nBeing terroir driven\, the focus is on 100% single varietal wine: Pinot Noir\, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. They also occasionally release a wine called Wanderlust – which changes every year and lays outside the core tenants of Restless River. \nThe Ava Marie Chardonnay is named after their daughter. This is a powerhouse of a wine – not in its weight\, but its intensity. Over the years Craig has subtly shifted towards a more natural approach in the winery as the vineyard has matured. \nThe Le Luc Pinot Noir is named after their son\, Luke. It is the newest of the three Estate labels but has quickly garnered a solid reputation among Pinot Noir lovers. The Hemel-en-Aarde Valley is arguably South Africa’s best area for Pinot Noir\, so expect this wine to get better with every vintage. \nThe Cabernet Sauvignon is named after two single vineyard blocks on the farm: Main Rd\, and Dignity. One of the most unique wines in South Africa\, being a cool-climate premium Cabernet Sauvignon. This is the wine that first projected Restless River into the upper echelons of the South African wine world. \nThe Wessels are expanding plantings on their and the neighbouring farm. They continue to concentrate on the triumvirate of Chardonnay\, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. SUMMARY:Saturday Sipping Session - Painted Wolf Wines
DESCRIPTION:Painted Wolf Wines began with two passions: winemaking and the conservation of Africa’s endangered wild dogs. Emma and Jeremy Borg founded the company in 2006\, with Jeremy pursuing his craft as a winemaker while the business helped raise funds for conservation. Since then\, Painted Wolf has donated more than R4m to wild dog and related conservation projects. \nThe wines themselves are distinctly South African\, with a particular focus on Chenin Blanc and Pinotage. Jeremy also works with other varietals such as Shiraz and Rhone cultivars that thrive in our warm climate conditions. His approach is thoughtful and hands-on\, with each vineyard and vintage guiding the winemaking rather than following a fixed recipe. \nThe result is a collection of expressive wines with plenty of character.
