More than 40 years later\, that ambition has become one of the great success stories of our wine industry. \nIt all began in 1983\, when Graham Beck bought Madeba Farm just outside Robertson. He recognised the potential of the region’s limestone-rich soils and warm days\, followed by cool nights. These conditions are particularly well suited to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir\, the two classic varieties used in Cap Classique. \nThe first Graham Beck Cap Classique was made in 1991\, with founding Cellarmaster Pieter Ferreira helping to shape the style from the very beginning.
