DESCRIPTION:Two brothers\, too much wine and a few cattle. \nWinshaw Vineyards and Usana Farming encapsulates the beauty of regenerative agriculture. Two brothers – basically pasture reared in a prominent winemaking family – now based on an old Cape Dutch farm in Stellenbosch\, South Africa – have made quite the adventure of this conservationist approach to food and farming systems. Embracing sustainability and ethical farming\, Usana offers premium grade Grass Fed Beef\, Pasture Reared Eggs and of course fine wine. \nThe Winshaw Vineyards wines honour the men who paved the way for these brothers. There are so many stories about the lives of Bill and Charles\, they had to write an entire book about it\, Gold Dust & Grapes. Starting in 1871\, when William C Winshaw was born in USA\, taking us on a journey that lead to South Africa during the Boer War and his first entry to wine at Patrys Vlei outside Stellenbosch. He talks about Pontac and Hermitage and his ideas of making raisin wine. Pulling the South African wine producers out of financial trouble and of course KWV and Stellenbosch Farmers Winery. \nCome and listen to more of these stories with JP Winshaw.
