DESCRIPTION:Join us for an incredibly special Saturday Sipping Session\, where we will be exploring the wines of Orpheus & the Raven with the people behind it all – Etienne Louw and Brenden Scwartz. \nOrpheus & the Raven is about passion\, music\, poetry and inspirational collaboration. It’s about stories and connection\, beauty and fulfilling dreams. This all clearly culminates in their exquisite and unique wines. \n“The story of Orpheus is at once one that looks back and forward. A master of poetry and song\, Orpheus is said to have been able to inspire animals\, trees and rocks to move to his music. But he carries with him the tragedy of having looked back at the most critical moment\, as he tried to guide his wife\, Eurydice\, safely from the depths of the underworld and in so doing\, lost her forever. In our story\, it is the raven who helps Orpheus to see the light again\, and once more turn his face towards the sun.” \nEtienne Louw’s pivotal part in this collaboration\, besides being one of the founders\, is as the guy who makes the wine. He was winemaker at Altydgedacht for many years while working on this side project.
