DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exclusive Saturday Sipping Session with the winemaker himself – Richard Schroeder – presenting his Groot Phesantekraal wines. \nWhile vines were always cultivated in this area over the centuries\, Groot Phesantekraal was known as a successful cattle\, sheep and grain farm until the present fourth generation owner\, Andre Brink\, and his wife\, Ronelle\, planted 50 hectares of vineyards in the late 1990s. Their boutique winery soon established a name for itself in the Durbanville Wine Valley as a friendly\, beautiful destination to buy wines\, enjoy a quick coffee or pair wines with a meal in their spectacular restaurant cunningly created in the expertly restored stables. \n\n\nRecently arrived\, Richard Schroeder is no stranger to the Brink family or to Durbanville. He grew up with the Brink sons\, attending the same schools and then studied winemaking at Stellenbosch University. After a few years of working in large cellars\, he leapt at the chance to come back home and make wine with old family friends.
